In September 2015, Weight Watchers UK made their online product webstore open to everybody & not just our online members.  At the same time, we moved to a Magento platform in line with our other Continental European markets.  The store provides an additional channel for all consumers who want to eat well to purchase Weight Watchers products and in our own branded experience.

The eCommerce Manager drives commercial revenues from Weight Watchers own online store in line with company’s overall commercial plan.  The role oversees all eCommerce operations including sales, store operations, website design & development, store marketing strategy developed with the Marketing team & implementation, warehousing & delivery through to KPI reporting to evaluate & grow by collaborating & involving other relevant teams in the overall delivery of the operation.

As part of the contribution to the Commercial team, the Manager identifies and evaluates business opportunities to drive commercial revenues, supporting others to achieve strong results for the overall company performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Day to day running of Weight Watchers Online Store to deliver strong commercial revenues and OI
  • Weekly & Monthly KPI reporting using Magento and working with Finance Analyst & shared with the Commercial & Marketing teams
  • Store Administration to update with promotions, working with Supply Chain to ensure sufficient stock allocation, set up new products, manage content and ensure bannering is up to date on the store
  • Store Marketing – Working with the marketing team and based carefully on analyzed customer and target-group data, develop the store campaigns, promotions and other sales activities and ensure their successful implementation.
  • Refreshing and maintaining the store branding look and feel, to be consistent with Weight Watchers master brand
  • Proposing and implementing the promotional plan for the store whilst working with Marketing to complement the Product promo plan from the Meeting room channel.
  • Work with CRM team and creative agencies to deliver targeted email marketing communications in line with the store marketing calendar
  • Using Magento & Analytics tools to evaluate previous campaigns & promotions & identify future learnings
  • Collaborate with the International Managers of the CE eCommerce Shops teams for the continuous development of international Store Platform and sharing of best practice.
  • Work with the European service provider to ensure all planned operational improvements are implemented and raise any store service issues with them in order to fix any bugs in the shortest possible time frame.
  • Annual Business Planning to improve sales, penetration, basket size & conversion on the store
  • Annual optimization of the store where upgrades are identified, including testing of the site
  • Working with Magento, Google Analytics, CRM systems and Oracle to deliver the key responsibilities
  • Budget management of eCommerce site maintenance, development & marketing costs
  • Being responsible for forecasting the Annual Operational Plan for the eCommerce channel and subsequent latest estimates throughout the year.
  • Provide a point of contact for customer services to assist in the resolution of escalated store related complaints and issues.
  • Additionally to the online store, the eCommerce Manager is responsible for the day to day management of the Weight Watchers Foods website and all associated tasks.
  • Management & Development of other digital channels, specifically Amazon & eBay, driving significant revenue growth through these channels.

Skills & Experience:

  • Educated to degree level in a relevant subject (eg media, communications, business administration), we require 18 months experience in being responsible for & development of an eCommerce store.
  • Previous Magento experience highly preferable
  • You will also need in-depth experience in the implementation of cross-media campaigns, and in the application of analytical and operational CRM.
  • You know project management methods and have already gained experience in the management of major projects, ideally in an international environment.
  • You will be a skilled collaborator with excellent inter-personal skills, who is able to effectively work cross-functionally with a number of internal teams.
  • You will have demonstrable commercial and analytical acumen, with the ability to manage and grow a digital revenue stream.
  • It would be helpful to have some experience of managing a P&L for an online store; alongside evidence of accurate forecasting skills for a digital channel.
  • You will need to have had experience in creating, implementing and evolving digital marketing levers such as eCRM, PPC & SEO.
